Dr Simon Pedzisi – Head of Dementia Care

Simon has worked in the health care sector in Australia and overseas for over 18 years. Starting his career in the UK as a nurse, he has held diverse roles drawing on his expertise in clinical practice and research, including Director of Care Services at Nightingale Hammerson in London, National Lead for the Gold Standard Framework (developing palliative care practices across the UK), and as visiting lecturer at universities across the UK. Now Head of Dementia Care at Opal HealthCare, he’s delivering a dementia strategy to enhance the knowledge of our team, our person-centred care approach, and our environments to support residents with dementia to live well. Research and education are his passion, and he’s committed to empowering families to work together to make a difference to those living with dementia. Simon qualified as a nurse in the UK, has a Doctorate in Business Administration from London School of Commerce, and a Masters in Leadership and Management from Anglia Ruskin University, UK.
