Evolving leadership style
a recipe for success
As a Head Chef at Bathurst Riverview Care Community, Audrey loves her job but always believed that the traditional way of managing her team was the only way to achieve success in the kitchen. Through the Emerging Leaders Program delivered by Opal HealthCare Academy, she made changes to her leadership style.
"I have so much love for my job and that's why all the changes I have made to my leadership style are now second nature", said Audrey. "I've learned that you can break the cycle and become a kind, compassionate, empathetic, and caring leader and still get these great results".
The Emerging Leaders Program has made a massive impact on my cooking, leadership and also my personal life" says Audrey. The course pushed Audrey to achieve her goals and gain confidence in her own ability to manage her team differently.
"It has pushed me in so many aspects of my career and I am kicking goals because I feel confident, supported, and also recognised...I recently completed my CERT IV in hospitality, which I never thought I would do".
Now that Audrey is a firm believer in the power of compassionate leadership she is eager to share her experience with others.
"I highly recommend this course to anyone that has the desire to become the best version of themselves...It really does change lives," she said.
The Emerging Leaders program is available to all current team members and provides a pathway for team members to fast-track their careers into leadership roles.
